The government of Kerala has launched a major initiative focusing on women’s health based on the National family health survey. The findings have declared anemia as a disease among women.
The government has implemented the programme VIVA (abbreviation of Vilarchayil Ninnum Valarchayilekku in Malayalam) means from anemia to growth.
As a part of the programme, a Hemoglobin (Hb) testing is to be done in girls in the age group of 13 to 18. The said scanning would be done by the nurses from the Primary Health Department on 23rd September, Saturday, 2023.
